Cinematographer/Director/Producer/Screenwriter
Hello everyone, my name is Taylor Desjardins. I was born in Providence Rhode Island, and grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Basketball, soccer, and hockey are sports I played growing up for fun. I am into martial arts and wrestling as well. Bruce Lee/martial arts movies got me into martial arts like wrestling. This brings us to how I got here in the first place. My Jiddo was my biggest inspiration. Anytime you saw him, you would see a camera in his hand. He was a family man, and his favorite thing to record was us opening presents on christmas morning. He filmed in a way that was special. No one cared about the camera being there. It was his element. This got me thinking a lot about how films are made. Another inspirations of mine is a YouTuber that goes by the name of Mcjuggernuggets (aka Jesse Ridgway). He had a Psycho Series that I always thought was real. I related with him since his father treated him horribly, like mine. Seeing how he acted and staged his videos inspired me to give it a go. The way he shared his stories made me want to share my stories too. TV was a big part of my childhood. I was inspired by shows like Drake and Josh, Victorious, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Icarly, and The Brady Bunch. Christopher Nolan is my favorite director. I love jim carrey movies, and Some of my favorite action movies are The Avengers, Batman Dark Night movies, and the Original Spider Man. Cinematography is my favorite part of film because it sets the tone and mood. I love messing around with the technology, music, lighting, audio, and sound. After high school, I decided to attend Bridgewater State University to double major in Film and Video Production and Psychology. During my college years, I have worked on student films such as "Tunnel Vision," a Berklee student in her musical journey, "The Art Of Jealousy," a guy who moved to Boston, falls in love with a girl in his building who doesn't like him back, and kills her. "Suspended Frequencies," two Berklee students who do not get along partnered to write a song for their class project. I have won awards for my screenplay "Motorhead Fusion," a girl who graduated in mechanical engineering and wants to be a mechanic. Her father tells her she has to be something "feminine," and makes her find a new job or kick her out. This Screenplay has won in the Hollywood Storytellers Script Competition, New York Screenwriting Awards, and an honorable mention for the Palm Springs Diversity Screenplay Contest. I have worked with a numerous amount of cameras including but not limited to Sony A7III, Canon T5i, Rebel T7i, and Canon R8. I am currently using the Mirrorless DSLR Canon R8. I love this camera because I can shoot in 4K. It has one of the best lenses in the game, I believe. I also believe it is one of Canons best lines of high resolution lenses. As I continue to work on my projects, I love to use Rode Go (Lav) and Boom Mics. One other piece of equiptment I love to use is the Gimbal DJI Ronin RS3. As you can see, I am very passionate about what I do, and I cannot wait to see the future of filmmaking.
